“You’re starting to grow a beard, Satoru.” He pouted with discontent and rose a hand to caress the prickly stubble that tarnished the usually clean-shaven, handsome face. “ Megumi sighed into the other’s chest and slightly pushed against sculpted muscle so he could look at the other man. With Megumi, he could drop his infinity, he could abandon his nonchalant and arrogant façade, he could be human, he could be himself. Defenses down and vulnerable, Satoru felt his protective barriers crumble he’d always felt safe and secure around his young ward.

“I’ve missed you so much.” He breathed in Megumi, burrowing his nose into onyx strands and closing his tired eyes, wholly melting into the Ten Shadow User’s warmth. Megumi didn’t push against him nor protest the intimate grip, quite unexpectedly he’d leaned into Satoru’s chest and held onto his broad shoulders, comforting the elated man. He rushed forwards and clashed his body against the other’s smaller one, tightly embracing the younger sorcerer within his arms. “Megumi…” Oh, how he’d missed singing that name. “I leave you for a month and you turn our apartment into the local dumpster.” Satoru stilled and swallowed, processing the man that stood amongst the rubble, expression a mixture of disgust and worry as his reflective, emerald eyes took in the older sorcerer’s precarious living conditions. Like a celestial divinity, more mesmerizing and breathtaking than the time Gojo had seen him last – ethereal, resplendent, alive. “Gojo-san?” Satoru’s world slowed and stopped, prior concerns dissolving into oblivion as he turned towards the recognizable voice and there he stood before him.

It had been the last gift he’d given him. He felt his entire form tremble and shake, desperation more and more paramount. His breath became labored and strained, his eyes darted around the room trying to spot it in the catastrophic mess of old garbage and dirty clothes. When his fingers failed to locate the dark cloth within the rubble, he shot off the uncomfortable cushions, neglecting vertiginous dizziness and frantically looked around his cluttered home for the familiar fabric.Īs time passed, Satoru felt himself become more desperate, more frenzied, careless and urgent. The morning’s light brightness contrasted grimly with his dark somberness, momentarily blinding and burning his exhausted eyes as he struggled to find his blindfold amongst the monstrous chaos that was his apartment.

Satoru awoke with his head throbbing in white, hot pain his body wasn’t much more comfortable, limbs poorly fitting atop the couch, feet lazily dangling off the arm rest.
